Select A Whitby Neighbourhood
Whitby is located in Southern Ontario east of Ajax on the north shore of Lake Ontario, and is home to the headquarters of Durham Region. It is approximately a 30 minute drive to the Toronto borough of Scarborough, and it is known as a commuter suburb in the eastern part of the Greater Toronto Area. While the southern portion of Whitby is predominantly urban, and an economic hub, the northern part of the municipality is more rural and includes the communities of Ashburn, Brooklin, Myrtle and Myrtle Station. Whitby boasts a dynamic mix of rural and quiet waterfront living along the shores of Lake Ontario as well easy access to Toronto's business and entertainment district. Whitby Harbour and the
Town's parks and green spaces offer a cottage-like lifestyle. The waterfront trail, from Whitby Harbour to Intrepid Park at the Oshawa border, is a major attraction for walkers and cyclists. Well established neighbourhoods, steeped in history, offer residents everything from great shopping to accessible transit, and an extensive choice of recreational facilities, programs, and arts and culture to suit all interests.
